government has decided to increase the number of people who are exempt from the quarantine pass from next week. We decided to make an exception even if it was determined that there was no sufficient evidence whether it was because of the vaccine, although there was an adverse reaction after receiving the corona vaccine, and it was hospitalized or applied for compensation for damage due to the adverse reaction.

Reporter Jeong Da-eun will explain the details.

There are two additional cases where quarantine pass exceptions were recognized.

First, it is the case that an adverse reaction occurred within 6 weeks of receiving the COVID-19 vaccine and hospitalization was required.

If you receive a confirmation of hospitalization and a medical certificate from the hospital and give it to the public health center, you will be registered as an exception to the quarantine pass on the KCDC app, Kakao, or Naver app.

Even if an adverse reaction occurs after vaccination and you apply for damage compensation and are judged as 'insufficient causality evidence', the quarantine pass is an exception.

Even without a medical certificate, exception registration is made automatically through the damage compensation review record.

You can get an exception confirmation from the 24th, but once you get it, it will remain in effect.

The number of exceptions to the quarantine pass is expected to increase by about 12,000.

Until now, the exceptions were those who were released from quarantine after being confirmed, immunocompromised persons, and those whose second vaccination was postponed or banned because of a serious adverse reaction after vaccination.

[Kim Yu-mi / Central Quarantine Countermeasures Headquarters Quarantine Management Team Leader: The purpose is to minimize the inconvenience of those who tried to get vaccinated and received more than the first inoculation but did not complete the inoculation due to an adverse reaction to the inoculation.

] When he recovered, he asked to be vaccinated again.

Pregnant women, regardless of gestational age, did not make exceptions, saying they were in the high-risk group.

The government announced on the 21st that it would come up with an improvement plan and announce it the day after the 21st in response to SBS reports that prescriptions for 'Paxrovid', an oral treatment, were low due to strict drug regulations prohibiting concomitant use.

There is discussion about allowing the drug to be taken if it can be discontinued if it contains ingredients that should not be taken together.
