Recently, there was a fire in the cargo hold of a truck that was running, but the nearby citizens all came forward to prevent it from spreading into a big fire.

Reporter Bae Yoon-ju of UBC reports.

A pillar of fire erupts from the cargo area of a 1-ton truck loaded with sandwich panels.

[Oh, it's on fire. It's on fire. I have a fire extinguisher, should I turn it off?]

The owner of the black box vehicle hurriedly got off, took the fire extinguisher out of the trunk and started to extinguish the fire.

The fire, which did not go out even if the residents came forward and mobilized a fire extinguisher and a basin, was extinguished only after the firefighters arrived.

The first person to witness a fire in a moving truck was a job seeker in their 20s.

Seeing the smoke rising from the car in front, I rolled up my arms without hesitation.

[Gong Dong-hoon / Job Seeker: I only thought of turning it off for now, really. There's a shop right next door, and the car looks like it's about to explode. A fire extinguisher for a car to try to be of any help.]

The cause of the fire in the truck is presumed to be caused by a cigarette butt that someone threw out of the car.

But ten days later, a similar thing happened again in Ulsan.

A man runs across the road towards the truck on fire.

It takes only 30 seconds to pull out the fire extinguisher safety pin and reach the fire scene, and water is poured into a bucket to clean up the remaining fire.

[Lee Young-soo / Car Center Operation: It is something I should do now, but because of the interest and encouragement of many people, I feel very rewarding about what I have done.

I hope that this incident will spread many stories and lead to a brighter society.]

In an emergency, the brilliant citizenship that jumped into the scene of the fire without hesitation prevented major damage.
