Today (14th) around 6:40 a.m., two workers collapsed in a space of 165 square meters on the second basement floor that will become the apartment pump room.

Police believe that the two workers were angry when they set off a lightning bolt to harden the concrete.

The workers were rushed to the hospital, but one worker in his 60s died and another worker in his 60s is in critical condition.

The police are planning to check the cause of death through an autopsy, considering that it was suffocation caused by carbon monoxide poisoning.

According to the Occupational Safety and Health Act, when working in a confined space, it is necessary to frequently check the oxygen concentration, install ventilation facilities, and provide safety and health education.

The police are checking whether these safety rules are properly implemented at the workplace.

Over the past five years, 73 people have died from suffocation while working in confined spaces.

Gyeonggi Province started a joint safety inspection from today to prevent suffocation at construction sites in winter, but the accident could not be prevented from the first day.
