One out of six missing persons in the Gwangju apartment collapse was found yesterday (13th). Rescue work was carried out last night, and our reporter is at the scene of the accident.

Reporter Ha Jeong-yeon, is the rescue operation still going on?

<Reporter>

Yes, it is early in the morning before dawn, but the collapse site here is busy all night long.

As the authorities decided to carry out the night rescue operation, the rescue operation of the missing person has been going on for over 20 hours, but there are so many concrete debris that it is impossible to rescue them right away.

It was around 11:14 am yesterday when the missing person was found crushed by rubble on the railing on the first basement floor of the apartment.

Rescuers visually confirmed the missing person, but the piles of collapsed concrete and reinforcing bars are thickly piled up, making it difficult to enter and there is a risk of collapse.

A successful rescue operation seems to be the only way to determine the identity of the missing person and whether they are alive or dead.

There were many difficulties in the rescue and search operation as it continued to snow all day yesterday, but now the snow has stopped.

Families of the missing person remain at the scene of the accident all night waiting for news of rescue.

Reporter Ha But, it was found in a slightly different place from the place where the missing people were originally supposed to have been.

<Reporter>

At first, it was estimated that there were missing persons on the 26th to 28th floors, but they were found on the first basement floor.

Now, the scope of the intensive search is widened and the task of rescuing the now-discovered missing persons is slow. It seems that it will take a considerable amount of time to find and rescue the remaining missing persons.

<Reporter>

It looks like it will take some time.

The fire department is also continuing the search for the five remaining missing people, but first, they are doing everything they can to secure an access road for heavy equipment needed for rescue.

We are also preparing to dismantle the tower crane installed in the collapsed building to prevent further collapse.

Parts of large cranes for lifting tower cranes are also being imported sequentially.

After two days of assembly this morning, the full dismantling begins on Sunday.

The dismantling of this tower crane is expected to speed up the search operation to dig up the ground and high-rise concrete piles.
