It was confirmed that the police, who are investigating the collapse of a new apartment building in Hwajeong I-Park, Seo-gu, Gwangju, seized and searched the subcontractors that were carrying out the construction at the time.

According to the Investigation Headquarters of the Gwangju National Police Agency (Violent Crime Investigation Unit), the police conducted a search and seizure on the afternoon of the 12th at three companies that subcontracted reinforced concrete construction at the Hwajeong I-Park apartment construction site.

It is said that the three companies are those who directly constructed the construction by subcontracting the reinforced concrete and those who supplied equipment and materials.

According to the relevant authorities, all three of these companies have been identified as subcontractors who have legally participated in the construction rather than illegal subcontracting.

The police tried to first conduct a search and seizure of the site office inside the construction site where the accident occurred, but due to safety concerns, such as fear of further collapse, access to the site is restricted and the warrant cannot be executed.

In consideration of the seriousness of the matter, the Gwangju Police Department promptly formed an investigation headquarters and launched an extensive investigation to identify the cause of the accident and punish those responsible.

An official from the Gwangju National Police Agency said, "First of all, we started a forced investigation from the possible places."
