One out of six missing persons in the Gwangju apartment collapse was found yesterday (13th). Rescue work took place last night, and our reporter is at the scene of the accident.

Reporter Ha Jeong-yeon, is the rescue operation still in progress?

<Reporter>

It's early in the morning before dawn, but the site of the collapse here is busy all night long.

As the authorities decided to perform the night rescue operation, the rescue operation for the missing has been going on for more than 19 hours, but there are so many concrete debris that it is impossible to rescue them right away.

The time when a missing person was found crushed by rubble on the railing on the first basement floor of the apartment was around 11:14 am yesterday.

Rescuers visually confirmed the missing person, but the collapsed concrete piles and reinforcing bars are thickly piled up, making it difficult to enter and there is a risk of collapse.

A successful rescue operation seems to be the only way to determine the identity of the missing person and whether they are alive or dead.

There were many difficulties in the rescue and search operation as it continued to snow all day yesterday, but now the snow has stopped.

Families of the missing person remain at the scene of the accident all night waiting for news of rescue.

Reporter Ha, by the way, was it found somewhere other than where the missing people were supposed to be?

<Reporter>

At first, it was estimated that there were missing persons on the 25th to 28th floors, but they were found on the first basement floor.

Then, as the scope of the intensive search increases and it takes quite a while to rescue the missing person who is now found, it seems that it will take quite a while for this rescue operation to be finished, right?

<Reporter>

It looks like it will take quite some time.

The fire department is also continuing the search for the five remaining missing people, but first, they are doing everything they can to secure an access road for heavy equipment needed for rescue.

We are also preparing to dismantle the tower crane installed in the collapsed building to prevent further collapse.

Parts of large cranes to reveal the tower crane are coming in sequentially. After two days of assembly from this morning, the full-scale dismantling begins on Sunday.

Only by dismantling this tower crane will speed up the search operation to dig up the ground and high-rise concrete work.
