A 30-year-old who secretly filmed people taking off their clothes by flying a drone to a high-rise apartment and residence in Haeundae-gu, Busan, was sentenced to eight months in prison in the first trial and arrested.

According to the legal community today (13th), the 5th single criminal (Judge Shim Woo-seung) of the Eastern Branch of the Busan District Court sentenced A (39), who was handed over to trial for violating the Act on Special Cases concerning the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes, and sentenced him to 8 months in prison.

Person A was handed over to trial on July 28, last year, at around 10 pm on the charge of filming four adult men and women who were taking their clothes off by flying a drone 1.8 km from the rooftop of an apartment building in Haeundae-gu, Busan.

Person A claimed that during the investigation and trial, a person who was unintentionally undressing was photographed.

However, on the memory card stored in the drone, 4 people were photographed taking their clothes off in 4 rooms in about 5 minutes.

After July of last year, it was confirmed as a result of media coverage that he flew a drone with L-City and crashed due to damage to the wing.

At that time, a resident reported to the police when the drone made an emergency landing inside the house after impacting the balcony.

When A was arrested in court, he appealed for leniency, saying, "I did not distribute the filmed video."

The court said, "In a situation where the use of drones is becoming commonplace, these crimes make people's daily lives uneasy and cause great shame and anxiety to those filmed," the court said. There is a high possibility,” he explained, explaining the reason for the sentencing.

In February of last year, so-called 'privacy terrorism' crimes using drones are on the rise, with a man sentenced to 8 months in prison for filming a man and woman having sex in a high-rise officetel in Busan with a drone.

After this incident, residents were trembling with anxiety, such as banners warning that drones are not allowed to fly in some coastal high-rise apartments.
