If you've seen color issues in certain apps since switching to Windows 11, you're not alone.
Many users have reported similar problems to the manufacturer.
Microsoft has finally confirmed that it has indeed detected an issue that may affect devices running Windows 11 version 21H2.
The company says apps that use Win32 APIs to render colors on HDR displays are affected.
Normally, HDR displays allow users to experience a wider color gamut, resulting in more vivid colors and more detailed highlights.
With Windows 11 however, not everything goes as planned.
After installing Windows 11, some image editing programs may not render colors correctly on some HDR displays.
Microsoft says the issue is commonly seen with white colors, which may display as bright yellow or other colors.
A major problem when using your computer to perform photo or video editing.
Waiting for a fix
Currently, unfortunately, there is no workaround to correct the problem.
The Redmond firm has announced that it is currently working on a fix, but it will be necessary to wait until the end of January to have access to it.
If you have an HDR display and want to upgrade your computer to Windows 11 or update Windows 11 to version 21H2, we strongly recommend that you wait for this patch to be released.
