A public official who killed a motorcyclist by throwing a boundary stone into the road while intoxicated claimed mental and physical weakness at his first trial.

The 12th Criminal Division of the Daejeon District Court (Chief Judge Yoo Seok-cheol) conducted the trial preparation procedure for the case of injury and death of a Daejeon civil servant A (58) today (12th).

A's attorney claimed, "(A) had no intention of committing the crime, and was in a state of infirmity at the time," and said, "I plan to pay monetary compensation to the bereaved family." He then submitted a request for mental evaluation to the court.

The court, which looked at the medical records of Mr. A's mental illness, accepted the lawyer's opinion and decided to conduct a psychological evaluation of the defendant.

Earlier, on November 6, last year, at around 1 am, while walking on a sidewalk in Wolpyeong-dong, Seo-gu, Daejeon, Mr. A got drunk and threw a 44 cm long and 12 cm high boundary stone next to a roadside tree on the road in 4 round trips for no reason.

About 5-6 minutes after Mr. A threw a stone, Mr. B, in his 20s, riding a motorcycle for late-night snack delivery, could not avoid the boundary stone placed on the road and stumbled.

A delivery driver passing by found B who was lying and reported it, and the 119 paramedics took him to the hospital, but he died in the end.

The police confirmed the fact that Mr. A threw the boundary stone through the surrounding CCTV, arrested him, and proceeded with the investigation.

During the police investigation, Mr. A stated, "I don't remember throwing a boundary stone while drunk, and I didn't know there was an accident."

However, in the CCTV, Mr. A threw the boundary stone on the road and looked at the place where the boundary stone was placed, and the scene of Mr. A leaving the seat after the motorcycle approached the accident site was also recorded.

The police judged that there was intentional negligence and arrested Mr.

After the incident, the city of Daejeon decided to release the position as a personnel measure for Mr. A.
