The search for missing persons at the site of the collapse of the outer wall of the Gwangju apartment was resumed after about 13 hours.

Gwangju Mayor Lee Yong-seop said at an on-site briefing, "The Gwangju Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters accepted the opinion of the safety inspection team and dispatched 6 rescue dogs and a handler at 11:20 am."

The safety inspection team determined that there was no problem with the search from the basement to the top of the 39th floor on the inside.

Since there is a risk of some collapse outside, supplementary work is required, so we delivered the final opinion to the Gwangju Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters that it is possible to first attach a thermal imaging camera to the drone and use a rescue dog to conduct a search.

The Gwangju Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters is planning to put a rescue team inside the building following the rescue dog.

In addition, to prevent further collapse, construction companies and tower crane experts are reviewing whether to dismantle a tower crane with a broken support.
