The heavy truck was damaged so much that it was hard to recognize its shape.



At around 0:20 this morning, a 4.5-ton truck running near the Deokpyeong Interchange toward Incheon on the Yeongdong Expressway collided with a steel structure.



It was snowing in that section at the time.



Firefighters used hydraulic equipment to rescue the driver, 55-year-old A, and transported him to the hospital, but he died.



The police plan to investigate the exact cause of the accident by restoring the vehicle's black box.

The dry weather has also led to wildfires.



Yesterday at around 6 PM, the forest fire at Seolbong Mountain in Icheon-si, Gyeonggi-do was extinguished in about 3 hours, and at around 10 PM, a forest fire broke out in Yeongju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do and a mountain in Changnyeong-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do.



The forest authorities plan to use firefighting helicopters as soon as the day dawns to extinguish the flames.
