The first official trial of the Seongnam Daejang-dong development case was held today (10th). While all five defendants were present for the first time, Mr. Kim Man-bae also argued that the guidelines for the Daejang-dong project were in accordance with the policy of Seongnam Mayor at the time of Lee Jae-myung.

Two people from Seongnam Urban Development Corporation, including Yoo Dong-gyu and Jeong Min-yong, and three private entrepreneurs, including Kim Man-bae, Nam-wook, and Jeong Young-hak, all stood before the court.

Only Accountant Jeong Young-hak, who cooperated by providing 19 transcripts to the prosecution, admitted the fact of the charges,

denied it.

A fierce battle ensued over the seven provisions of the collusion guidelines, which are the core basis for the alleged breach of trust.

In response to the prosecution's argument that the seven clauses, including exclusion from construction companies' business application qualifications and the impossibility of requesting additional profit sharing for construction, were toxic clauses to maximize Hwacheon Daewoo's profits, the defendants countered that they followed the Seongnam City guidelines and were not in breach of trust.

In particular, Kim Man-bae's lawyer argued that the seven provisions mentioned by the prosecution were in accordance with the policies that Seongnam Mayor Lee Jae-myung at the time ordered for a stable business.

In response to the lawyer's expression that it was the mayor's order at the time of Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party's election committee added, "It is the official policy of Seongnam City, not the private instruction of the mayor at the time of Lee Jae-myung."

The trial is in full swing, but the prosecution's upper-level investigation is at a standstill.

At the time of the Daejang-dong development project, the summons of Jeong Jin-sang, deputy head of the Democratic Party's election committee, was repeatedly delayed and could not even be scheduled.

In the case of former president Hwang's resignation, the statute of limitations for prosecution is less than a month left, so it seems inevitable that it will be pointed out that if the summons is delayed further, it is an investigation to take care of.
