Dell's new XPS is slated to launch in the spring with a starting price of $ 1,119.

Over the years this 13 inch laptop has received upgrades and new features.

Its latest upgrade, the XPS 13 Plus, was presented at CES 2022.

Minimalist and modern design

The new XPS 13 plus offers more refined ergonomics than its previous version.

First, the keyboard extends from edge to edge of the computer.

Its keys are larger and do not have a separation space.

Dell calls this style “zero-lattice”.

For their part, the traditional "Function" keys no longer exist (namely, keyboard shortcuts for volume management or even for changing the brightness).

They have been replaced by an LED icon bar.

To display them, the user just has to hold down the "Function" key.

Likewise, the classic touchpad has disappeared in favor of an invisible piece of glass integrated into the palm rest.

Technological innovations

Dell promises an increase in performance and autonomy of the device.

Indeed, the XPS 13 Plus will be the first model in the range equipped with the new 12th generation Intel Core processors (28 watts).

With 8 to 32 GB of RAM, the device promises an SSD storage space of up to 2 TB. Another novelty, the PC will support DDR5 memory.

The new version of the device also has larger and more efficient fans.

Concretely, they will generate an air flow 55% more important than before.

Finally, an Express Charge 2.0 function will allow the user to recharge their XPS 13 Plus to 80% in less than an hour.

From a connectivity point of view, the XPS 13 Plus offers two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C) ports.

The slots for the microSD card and the jack port of previous generations have disappeared.

Users wishing to use these features will therefore have to invest in a USB-C hub.
