[Mr. A: (Why did you embezzle it?) … … .]

It was around 9:10 last night that the police caught Mr. A.

During a search for a building owned by Mr. A in Paju, Gyeonggi-do, Mr. A was found hiding in the building and arrested.

The police escorted Mr. A to the Gangseo Police Station in Seoul and the investigation is ongoing.

In the midst of this, it was confirmed as a result of SBS coverage that Mr. A purchased gold bars at the Paju branch of the Korea Gold Exchange last month.

The CCTV video secured by SBS showed Mr. A carefully examining the gold bars brought by the exchange employees.

On December 17th, Mr. A, who expressed his intention to purchase gold, put the first transaction amount of 10 billion won into the exchange.

The next day, Mr. A came to the exchange and took 155 1kg gold bars.

After that, it was confirmed as a result of SBS coverage that he had received 851 gold bars worth 68.1 billion won six times until December 28th.

[Kim Hyun-mo / CEO of Korea Gold Exchange: (Although there was a suspicion of criminal connection) I confirmed that it was the remaining amount after selling the stock in the stock account.

Recognizing the embezzlement of company money, the company continued to buy gold bars until three days before the company sued Mr. A for business embezzlement.

The police are looking for the whereabouts of the bullion, believing that it is possible that Mr. A bought the bullion with the company money embezzled and hid it in a third place, or traded the bullion and turned it into cash.
