A member of a voice phishing gang who has been wanted for two years has been arrested.

I was caught drinking alcohol until late at night in a bar in violation of the Corona 19 quarantine guidelines.

Seoul Suseo Police Station caught up with an entertainment pub in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, around 10:30 pm on the 4th, and booked 26 people, including the owner and employees, on charges of violating the Infectious Disease Prevention Act.

Among the guests caught on the same day, there was a man in his 30s who was wanted on suspicion of participating in a voice phishing crime.

He had been on the run for two years after two arrest warrants were issued.

When the crackdown began, the man hid under the dishwasher in the kitchen of the establishment for over an hour, but was eventually discovered.

During the investigation, the man said that he did not receive a COVID-19 vaccine and did not undergo a PCR test for fear of being tracked by the police.

“I ran away for over two years, but I didn’t know that I would be caught while drinking,” he said with a sigh.
