Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon said today (4th) that the high-ranking public officials' crime investigation office (the Airborne Division) also looked up his correspondence data and said, "I have no choice but to regard it as a temple."

Mayor Oh posted an article on his SNS today with the title 'I was also inquired of communication data' and criticized, "The reckless inquiry of communication data by the Moon Jae-in government's investigative agencies, including the Airborne Service, is going too far."

Mayor Oh said, "It was confirmed that from June to November of last year, not only the Airborne Service, but also the Seoul (central) district prosecutor's office, the Incheon District Prosecutors' Office, and the Gyeonggi Nambu Police Agency looked into my communication data. It is the place where I looked up most of the communication data of Rep. Him, and it was not related to my election law investigation except for the Seoul District Prosecutors' Office, and the timing is not right," he pointed out.

He continued, "If an investigative agency that has nothing to do with the actual pending case looked into personal information, including phone calls from the heads of local governments, it could only be regarded as a temple. I plan to find out if this has been done,” he added.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government issued a statement today in the name of spokesperson Kim Tae-gyun, saying, "I cannot clear my doubts that the state investigation agency may have conducted a 'political inspection' of the mayor of the opposition party, who is legitimately performing official duties."

therefore "Mayor Oh has been investigated by the prosecution for accusations made during the last by-election, but these agencies are not the agencies that directly investigated the case."

According to the Seoul Metropolitan Government, following the Gyeonggi Nambu Police Agency in June of last year, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office in September, the Air Transport Service in October, and the Incheon District Prosecutors' Office in November each inquired Mayor Oh's communication data.

Mayor Oh was accused of publicizing false information related to the 'Pi City project', but was acquitted by the Central District Prosecutors' Office in October of last year, and the Seoul Metropolitan Government explained that he had never been investigated by other agencies.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government said, "There is no reason at all to be the target of an investigation agency's 'find out' just because Mayor Oh is two months away, and the possibility of a 'political inspection' is highly reasonable doubt." Please,” he urged.
