still more than an hour and a half until sunrise, and the temperature is -5 degrees below zero and the wind is blowing.
However, at sunrise, a large number of sunrise visitors are expected to flock to the beach.
Unlike last year, when the beach was completely controlled, this year, as in previous years, visitors can access the beach again.
Because of this, from the afternoon of the 31st, cars and campers were crowded around Gangneung Beach, and they seemed to be busy.
The reservation rate of large lodging establishments in Gangneung was also close to 100%.
The first sun of 2022 can be seen earliest on Dokdo at 7:26, and here in Gyeongpo, the first sunrise is expected at 7:40.
Clear weather is forecast for the east coast today, so it is expected that you will be able to properly appreciate the sun rising from the sea.
Each city and county on the east coast plans to broadcast the sunrise scene live on its own YouTube channel, so you can watch it online.
The Korea Meteorological Administration said that high waves are expected as the swells flow into the east coast of Gangwon, and it urged visitors to watch the sunrise at the breakwater or the beach to be careful.
