Volkswagen has announced that it will now approve its four-cylinder diesel engines for operation with paraffinic biofuels. The CO2 saving potential of the "newly developed fuels" is 70 to 95 percent, since residues can be used. Wolfsburg explicitly mention used cooking oil and wood shavings. Anyone looking for a gas station near them for the New Year with good climate protection will be disappointed. You cannot fill up with such fuels anywhere in Germany, at least not in their pure form. They can already be found in diesel as an admixture, although it can legally be palm oil imported from tropical regions. At least one fuel manufacturer offers at least "R33" at individual filling stations, in which a third of the mineral diesel is replaced by fuel made from waste and leftovers. On the other hand, pure paraffinic fuels may not be placed on the market at all, at least not at publicly accessible petrol stations.

Why not?

The argument repeatedly cited by environmental associations during the revision of the “Law for the Further Development of the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Quota” is: There are not enough of these for everyone.

Since a chemical differentiation of hydrogenated oils on the basis of palm oil is not possible, approval also opens the door to fraudsters.

We think: These arguments have to be transferred to other industries.

For example, you should stop trading in organic food immediately because criminals could forge the organic seal.

Either there is enough for everyone or there is nothing for anyone.

Granted, there is a catch to this proposal.

For him there was already a model experiment entitled “Really Existing Socialism”.

It failed in 1989 at the latest.
