Democratic Party presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung met with social workers today (28th) and said, "We need to improve the situation where non-regular workers are paid less than regular workers."

Candidate Lee said this at a meeting with young social workers held at the Korea Social Workers' Association in Mullae-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul this morning, saying, "If you do the same thing, you should pay additional compensation to non-regular workers."

Candidate Lee said, "It is normal that the remuneration of non-regular and temporary workers is higher than that of cases where job stability is guaranteed even if they do the same job. This is generally the case all over the world."

He continued, "The principle should be established, at least in the public sector, to pay additional compensation for instability, to pay the same price for the same work, and to pay more for difficult work," he said. will come true,” he said.

He also introduced the case of 'fair pay' introduced by the Gyeonggi governor facility.

Candidate Lee, who attended the meeting, said, "It's frustrating to see a social worker with a non-regular worker being a one-time worker," Lee said. "People say, 'I have to become a full-time employee. ' It's really important not to think."

He said, "I will work harder if I pay enough remuneration, including the price for instability," and added, "I will give additional compensation to short-term contracts and irregular jobs in the public sector so that there are no complaints. Wouldn't you be happy?" he explained.

He further emphasized, "We need to make non-regular workers better, not just a little, but definitely better."

Candidate Lee said, "It is common sense to pay the same price for the same work," even in the social worker's comments about the social perception that low treatment is taken for granted.

Candidate Lee said, "I don't understand why there are so many differences depending on the type of welfare facility. It is desirable to create a unified standard and differentiate according to the difficulty of work." I think it's because I'm holding on to it to reduce the burden."

He continued, "The root is ultimately in the attitude of the government. Welfare is what good people do because it is to help the poor, and the idea that it is a good deed rather than a job is rooted in the thoughts of government officials and people," he said. I hope to create a society that sees it as a dignified profession.”

In this regard, Candidate Lee said, "The perception of the politicians about welfare is too low.“I have strange thoughts about why healthy people who can work want to receive welfare benefits,” he criticized.

Candidate Lee also expressed sympathy for the welfare community's demand to raise welfare spending, which is currently 12% of GDP, to 20% in the long term, said Rep. Kim Seong-ju, who was present.

According to Rep. Kim, in response to a proposal from a nursing facility association official that Candidate Lee should change the perception of mental illness, he said, "There is a social stigma, even though you can get better with treatment." I experienced the case as my brother's case," he said.

Taking the case of the case where the third brother, Jae-sun Lee, was forcibly hospitalized, he agreed, saying, "There is a problem of delay, although it can be diagnosed and treated early."

Candidate Lee also said, "Generally speaking, the family relationship when a person is born in a normal marriage relationship is called a 'normal family', but is it abnormal in the case of single mothers? “The family has to acknowledge it,” he said.
