One more year (and there are now 17 in a row), the presenter and actress (Elorrio, Vizcaya, February 18, 1969) is in charge of giving the

New Year's Eve chimes

from the Puerta del Sol in Madrid. More than eight million people will follow its broadcast once again on RTVE, with the help again in this edition of the actress Ana García Obregón. With all her special programs and Christmas galas recorded in advance, the

host

of

Corazón

, the magazine of the social chronicle of public television, will spend the Christmas holidays as always: in her land, with her father, children and brothers. He tells us about his plans.

"I am lucky to be able to take a few days at Christmas because all the programs that I present and that are broadcast on those dates are recorded in advance in October and November, such as

Telepasión

or the charity gala of

Inocente, Inocente

, among others. Things that I also leave prepared is the theme of

my dress for the New Year's Eve chimes

. As soon as the call from RTVE rings to confirm that I present them, which is usually at the end of October or beginning of November, I will meet Lorenzo Caprile. What style of dress I want, he measures me and, once we reach an agreement - we almost always agree - he picks the fabrics and starts making, I usually have about three tests before I'm ready.

I spend Christmas in Elorrio (Vizcaya), with my father, as a family

. When I am in my town I love to go out to walk and run in the mountains. Sometimes I go with the children and we have picnics and we bring delicious things to eat. On Christmas Eve the whole family gets together and I or my sisters-in-law cook. All the women share the work a little and we have a good one. It depends on the day, we get together more or less at home (I have three brothers) and we have the typical menu: fish soup, baked fish, there are those who make lamb ... all very traditional things from there. It's quite fun and casual and we don't dress fancy. On Christmas morning, my father always goes out into the woods next to the house to look for mistletoe. It is another tradition that I love, and I accompany it.

Of all the parties,

New Year's Eve is perhaps the most important for me on an emotional level

, because I am alone with the children.

For 16 years, I have been in charge of ringing the New Year's Eve chimes, so my New Year's Eve celebration is not like everyone else's, but I enjoy it a lot.

That day, I make dinner myself and take it to Puerta del Sol.

The menu usually consists of Spanish omelette and Iberian ham

.

Although I don't eat almost any meat, that night I do.

I also bring a good wine, a little champagne and nougat that I buy in Bilbao, in a traditional shop on Correo Street:

Turronería Iváñez

(Correo, 23, Bilbao).

After the chimes, I go to my dressing room and, quietly, have dinner with my three children.

Having a potato omelette is a memory I have of my mother, who also used to make it on New Year's Eve.

Normally, for all the team that make the program there is a catering with all kinds of food and we can share with them, but by the time the broadcast ends, that you are exhausted, I like to retire a little to relax.

It's when I take off my dress and have my omelette.

The children endure perfectly all night, because they are entertained with the children of others, with the catering ... The grapes, which I do not eat when the chimes ring, like everyone else, I take them either afterwards or at next day watching the New Years concert on television.

I have been ringing the bells for 16 consecutive years, including four at ETB, and

I am

already

looking forward to having a New Year's Eve vacation

.

The day that I am not the one to broadcast them, I think I will watch them from home with longing, although I do not rule out going away on a trip during those dates with my children.

I remember when my parents decided not to do the traditional New Years Eve plan and we went on a trip.

They liked it a lot that we were just the family and one year we went to Brittany by bike, another to Ireland ... It was not very popular among my relatives at the time, because tradition said that you had to be all together, but I liked it. It seems fine for a family to do Christmas on their own, so I don't rule out doing the same with mine one day.
