An elementary school teacher in her 40s who treated the children she taught as invisible and abusive language was sentenced to a suspended sentence of imprisonment.

The Daejeon District Court sentenced teacher A in her 40s to 6 months in prison and 2 years of probation for child abuse.

In March last year, while serving as an elementary school teacher in Jung-gu, Daejeon, Mr. A was handed over to trial on charges of emotionally abusing the 3rd grade students he was in charge of.

It was found that three students demanded 'treat them as invisible people' from their classmates because they went to eat lunch first, and they pulled the children's desks into the hallway and had them solve problems on the floor.

In addition, it was investigated that he even said to the victim children, 'If you do not bring a dictation note, I will hang your head on a fan and kill you'.

The court ruled that 'the teacher, who should protect and supervise the victimized children, committed emotional abuse' and 'considering the number of times and the degree of abuse, the guilt is not light'.

However, he explained the reason for the sentencing, saying, "I took into account the fact that I showed an attitude of reflection and reached an agreement with the victim's side."
