It is one of the most popular words of the moment with the “Metaverse”, the NFT never cease to be adapted to all the sauces.

After having entered the art world or having been used for advertising purposes, it is now the video game sphere, in the person of Ubisoft, which is embarking on the adventure with a new platform called Ubisoft Quartz.

Ubisoft Quartz is a platform designed to buy and sell in Ubisoft games from NFTs, the famous digital certificates of authenticity.

The French publisher announced it with a trailer and unveiled the first supported game:

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint

.

The company has been hinting that it wants to get into NFTs for several months, so it's not a big surprise to see this new platform arrive.

A novelty that does not please everyone

Ubisoft explains that in Ubisoft Quartz, it will be possible to acquire “unique” objects, called Digit, which can then be resold for real money, as is done for example on Steam. The Digits will have serial numbers which will testify to their "uniqueness". The platform was developed by Ubisoft's strategic innovation lab.

We can therefore legitimately expect to see Ubisoft Quartz being implemented in all of Ubisoft's most famous franchises, such as

Assassin's Creed

,

Far Cry

or

Watch Dogs

… to the delight of shareholders.

The players, on the other hand, don't seem to be enjoying the news very much.

We can thus see a particularly impressive likes / dislikes ratio on the ad video, with 834 positive inches against 16,000 negative ones, or only 5.2% positive opinions (data obtained using a browser plugin ).

Ubisoft will therefore have a lot of work to do to convince the refractory.
