Yesterday (20th) evening, a car crashed into a truck on Yeongdong Expressway, and a fire broke out. One driver was killed in this accident.

Residents with their noses and mouths covered havetily take refuge through the stairs of the building.



At around 9:50 last night, a fire broke out in a 10-story officetel in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.



There were no casualties, but about 90 residents were evacuated.



The fire was extinguished in about 30 minutes, burning the ceiling of the officetel and interior furnishings.



The fire department said the fire started in the house on the third floor of the officetel, but the firefighting work was delayed because the resident was out.

Earlier, around 7 pm, a car collided with a 25-ton cargo truck near Dunnae Tunnel in the Gangneung direction of Yeongdong Expressway, Hoengseong-gun, Gangwon-do.



In the accident, a fire broke out in the car and burned all the cars, and the female driver in her 30s died.



Police and fire departments are investigating the exact cause of the accident based on eyewitness statements, etc.

At around 9:20 pm, a fire broke out in an SUV that was being towed near the Sangju Tunnel in the Changwon direction of the Jungbu Naeryuk Expressway in Gumi-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and it was extinguished in 30 minutes.



Fortunately, no one was injured in the fire, but all SUVs were burned.



Police and fire departments believe the fire was caused by friction between the tires and the road because the parking brake of the SUV being towed was not released.
