14 foreigners who were illegally staying in Korea were caught by the police while having a birthday party in a studio amid the nationwide 'ban on private gatherings of more than 5 people'.



The Incheon Michuhol Police Station announced that they had arrested 14 men and women of Thai nationality, including Mr.



Mr. A and others are suspected of staying in Korea illegally after entering the country even though they do not have the status of residence in Korea.



They were arrested yesterday (19th) at around 8:20 pm in a multi-family housing studio in Michuhol-gu, Incheon, drinking alcohol, and were arrested by the police after receiving a report from residents saying, "The noise in the building is too loud."



Person A and others stated in the police investigation, "We gathered for a birthday party."



The police handed them over to the Incheon Immigration Office and notified the Michuhol-gu Office of the violation of quarantine measures.



The ban on private gatherings of more than 5 people took effect on the 18th to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and will remain until January 2nd next year.



A police official said, "After receiving the report, we went to the police station and after inquiry, all of them were found to be illegal residents who had passed their stay in Korea, and they were handed over to the immigration authorities. .
