A man in his 40s who killed his wife 38 days after being sentenced to probation for a domestic violence offense admitted the charge at the first trial.

The 2nd Criminal Division of the Jeju District Court (Chief Judge Chan-soo Jang) held the first trial against A (44), a man who was arrested and charged with murder today (16th).

According to the prosecution's indictment, Mr. A is charged with stabbing and killing his wife with a knife in a villa in downtown Jeju around 5 pm on the 4th of last month.

It was revealed that Mr. A committed the crime when he was arguing with his wife because he was coming home late, threatening him with a weapon, and when his wife went out to the front door and shouted for his life.

It was confirmed that his wife was stabbed to the vital point with a knife and died on the spot.

At the trial that day, Mr. A answered, "I admit," to the question of whether or not to admit the charges.

Then, when the court asked Mr. A, "Are you unable to sleep these days?" and "If you sleep, does your wife appear in your dreams every day?", they answered, "Yes."

As Mr. A admits to all the charges, the court plans to complete the investigation of evidence and proceed with a decision hearing on the next date.

The court decided to hold a second hearing on January 13, next year, to investigate evidence.

On the other hand, on September 28, Mr. A was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison and 2 years of probation by the Jeju District Court 1st Criminal Division (Director Shim Byung-jik) for assaulting and threatening his wife.
