Police are checking the facts after receiving a report that the 2020 Tokyo Olympic gold medalist assaulted a taxi driver late at night.
According to the Daejeon Yuseong Police Station on the 15th, a taxi driver reported that he had been assaulted by an athlete on a road in Banseok-dong, Yuseong-gu around 1 am that day.
It is said that the taxi driver claiming the damage made a statement to the police with the purport that 'A person wielded violence when asked for the destination'.
A police official said, "Since Mr. A is intoxicated, he sent him home, and he plans to call him soon to check whether he was assaulted or not," said a police officer.
