The first confirmed case was confirmed in Seoul, and the spread of the virus in Incheon expanded to Seoul, following Chungnam and Gyeonggi.



The Central Quarantine Countermeasures Headquarters (Bangdaebon) announced that as of 00:00 on the 7th, 12 additional Omicron mutation infections were confirmed.



The routes of infection of the new confirmed cases of Omicron mutation are 3 from overseas and 9 from Korea.



All three foreign arrivals are from South Africa.



The government has strengthened entry quarantine measures, including quarantine for all overseas arrivals for 10 days from the 3rd, but two people who entered South Africa yesterday were also confirmed to have been infected with the Omicron mutation.



As a result, the cumulative number of infections in Korea has increased to 36, including 24 who were confirmed as mutated until yesterday.



The route of infection of the cumulative omicron mutation confirmed cases was 9 from overseas and 27 from domestic.



As of 00:00 yesterday, there were a total of 34 people (24 infected, 10 suspected) classified as Omicron epidemiologic related cases.

As of 00:00 yesterday, a woman in her 70s living in North Chungcheong who visited the church was confirmed with the Omicron mutation, and three international students attending a university in Seoul and a teenager living in Ansan, Gyeonggi were also suspected of having the mutation.



The official announcement of the script has not yet been released, but according to the Seoul Metropolitan Government, three foreign students attending Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Kyunghee University, and Seoul National University have been confirmed to have been infected with the Omicron mutation.



It is the first time that a confirmed case of Omicron mutation has been reported in Seoul.



There is a possibility that Omicron mutation may spread around Seoul university districts, so the quarantine authorities are closely monitoring it.



Yesterday, a teenager in Ansan-si was confirmed as a confirmed case of Omicron mutation, so it is spreading to other areas such as Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Chungbuk.



Most of the domestic confirmed cases and suspected cases of Omicron mutation confirmed until yesterday are related to the Michuhol-gu Church in Incheon.




The omicron mutation infection, which spread from Mr. A, a pastor belonging to this church, is from Mr. A's acquaintance Mr. B → Mr. B's family ( Mr. C, Mr. D) and acquaintance ( Mr. E) → Mr. C, D, E It has spread to the 5th infection from members of the affiliated church → family members and acquaintances of the member.



After three people, including C, D, and E, attended the church's 400-scale worship program for foreigners on the 28th of last month, members of this church, their families, and acquaintances have been confirmed with Corona 19 one after another.



Many of the confirmed cases of church members are confirmed to be unvaccinated, increasing the possibility of a large-scale group infection centered on churches.



As of yesterday, the quarantine authorities are tracking about 1,300 people to confirm the infection of Omicron.



Of these, 607 were classified as close contacts.
