The church in Michuhol-gu, Incheon, where the number of COVID-19 omicron mutation infections is concentrated, has issued an official apology through its online website.

In an apology, the church said, "We bow our heads in apology to the citizens of Incheon and the people for the series of events that triggered the spread of Omicron."

He continued, "There is no excuse for being the beginning of the spread of Omicron," he said.

The church said, "We bow our heads and apologize to the small business owners and self-employed people around the church who are experiencing financial difficulties due to unforeseen circumstances."

A couple in their 40s, who belonged to this church, where the first omicron mutation infection was confirmed in Korea, was criticized for hiding the fact that they had contact with an acquaintance B after the diagnosis was confirmed.

When the couple returned home from Nigeria to Incheon International Airport, they made false statements during the epidemiological investigation saying that they went home in a quarantine taxi rather than Mr. B's car.

Because of this, Mr. B, who was excluded from close contact, roamed the community for several days before being diagnosed with COVID-19.

In addition, B's family and acquaintances attended a worship service with hundreds of people at the church on the 28th of last month, leading to a group infection in the church.

This church will be closed until the 14th,All worship services are held online.
