PM (Personal Mobilty) refers to means of transportation such as electric kickboards and electric wheels.

The number of users has increased recently because it is relatively easy to travel a distance that is too far to walk and close to a car.

The shared electric kickboard, which debuted in Gangnam, Seoul in September 2018, can now be easily encountered all over the country.

However, there are a number of problems caused by this shared kickboard. First of all, the conflict with pedestrians has grown due to the problem of illegal parking. Collision with pedestrians is also on the rise. It's been a while since I've been criticized as "kick-lani (kickboard + elk)" by car drivers.

SBS Data Journalism Team's errands have prepared a series of reports to look at these PM's problems and find solutions.

First of all, Majesty Jakchim analyzed all 3,142 cases of PM-related traffic accidents across the country for the past four years to examine the PM accident patterns.

In addition, 11,996 cases of illegal parking sharing kickboard towing data in Seoul were analyzed. We looked at which areas have a lot of illegal kickboard parking and pointed out alternatives.

You can check the data through the interactive webpage ( http://mabu.newscloud.sbs.co.kr/pm/).

Today, as the first order of continuous reporting, we checked the operation of electric kickboards in Gangnam, Seoul, which has the most PM accidents in the administrative units of cities, counties, and wards across the country.

It seemed difficult to operate a shared kickboard safely for both users and pedestrians.
