At a nursing home for the elderly in Busan, a caregiver who used to be a special forces soldier who assaulted a dementia patient in his 80s was handed over to the prosecution.

Busan Geumjeong Police Station announced today (24th) that it had booked a nursing care worker in his 30s without detention and sent it to the prosecution on charges of violating the Elderly Welfare Act.

Mr. A is accused of assaulting Mr. B, a dementia patient, while working as a caregiver at a nursing home in Geumjeong-gu on September 11th.

It is known that Mr. A hit Mr. B in the face while blocking Mr. B from dragging the walker to the women's living room.

Then, it was investigated that he grabbed both wrists and knocked down Mr. B, then pressed his side with his knee to suppress it.

It was confirmed that Mr. A, a former special forces sergeant, resigned two days after the incident.

Person A said, "The assault occurred unintentionally in the process of drying Mr. B." He said, "I apologized to Mr. B on the day of the incident, and after much consideration, he quit his job."

It is said that the nursing home side recognized the assault case late after receiving an internal report and reported Mr. A to the police.

B's son was furious, saying, "The nursing home side did not know about the assault for over a month."

This is a 'news pick'.
