• Some people from Mentonnais have developed a connected T-shirt, "unparalleled on the market" which offers extensive health monitoring, with real-time electrocardiogram, heart rate variability, Vo2 Max and VMA.

  • “The product is aimed at high level athletes, but not only.

People who want to monitor themselves and who want to resume a safe activity will also find their account there, ”says Jean-Pierre Fort.

“We offer health data that is more varied and above all more precise than that of connected watches.

The Mentonnais Jean-Pierre Fort, 25, shows the color: with BodyConnect, the start-up set up with his father Laurent, he is ready to compete with real behemoths of high-tech.

He even explains that he "bought an Apple watch just to be able to compare it" with their Clicshirt, "100% made in France".

The fruit of eight years of research and development subcontracted to the Swiss laboratory CSEM, this connected T-shirt, "unparalleled on the market" according to the people of Mentonnais, offers extensive monitoring.

Machine washable like a normal t-shirt

Electrodes are directly woven into the compressive and technical textile of the garment.

And a 17 g "cardiobox", which can be unclipped for machine washing the T-shirt, makes it possible to link them to a smartphone app.

In addition to a real-time electrocardiogram, the device also promises the calculation of heart rate variability.

The Vo2 Max (the maximum volume of oxygen that can be consumed per unit of time) and the VMA, for Maximum aerobic speed, that is to say the running speed from which a person reaches this Vo2 max, are also available.

“The product is aimed at high level athletes, but not only.

People who want to monitor themselves and who want to resume a safe activity will also find their account there, ”continues Jean-Pierre Fort.

"Realize when to release the pressure"

“My father came up with the idea about ten years ago when he watched me play on the console.

In a soccer simulation, there was the 'powerbar' which showed the level of fatigue of the players.

This is what we wanted to propose.

Today, our technology is patented around the world.

"

To launch the marketing of their Clicshirt, the Fort called on two French duathlon and triathlon champions.

“It's much less restrictive than putting on a heart belt,” boasts Yohan Le Berre in a promotional video.

"It allows you to regulate your state of form and to realize when you have to release the pressure", also advances Romain Guillaume.

“It is not a medical device,” warns Jean-Pierre Fort.

But it could prevent some accidents.

Alerts are provided if certain thresholds are exceeded.

GPS and accelerometer

In addition to cardiac monitoring, thanks to the electrodes, the "cardiobox" also includes a GPS, an accelerometer and a gyroscope for the complete monitoring of sports activities.

It transmits all its data via Bluetooth.

The launch price of the Clishirt (which also exists in a brassiere version), at 269 euros, will be discounted from this Tuesday, on the occasion of the "Blackfriday", at 199 euros, specifies the start-up.
