“Flashes in the night sky meant that the body burned up in dense layers of the atmosphere,” explained Nikolai Kiselyov, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, head of the Laboratory of Minor Planets of the Solar System of the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory (KrAO).

According to the Crimean astronomer Alexander Yakushechkin, roughly the brightness of the flash is comparable to the brightness of the full moon.

With such brightness, the size of a body upon entering the atmosphere can range from half a meter to a meter in diameter, but much depends on the density of the substance burned up in the Earth's atmosphere.

"Wooo! Oh my god! .. What was that?"

- the sky over St. Petersburg, Leningrad region and Karelia was illuminated by a bright flash, in one of the videos several flying glowing balls are visible.

Does anyone have any suggestions what this could be?
