The first snow fell in Seoul a month earlier than last year.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA), mild snow was observed at the Meteorological Observatory in Songwol-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul at around 6:10 am on the 10th.

For climatological and statistical consistency, the first snow in Seoul is based on whether snowfall is observed at the Songwol-dong Observatory.

Bukhansan, Gwanaksan, and Dobongsan were the first to have sleet yesterday.

The first snow in Seoul this year was 30 days earlier than last year (December 10).

Compared to the normal year (November 20), it was ten days earlier.

In terms of ranking, it was tied for 8th in the fastest time with 1973.

It snowed lightly in other metropolitan areas besides Seoul.

The Korea Meteorological Administration predicted that there will be mild snow or raindrops in the metropolitan area by noon today, and snow will accumulate to less than 1 cm in some areas.

However, as the temperature rises during the day, the snow will melt quickly and disappear.

In the mountainous areas of Jeju and Gangwon, there will be a lot of snow compared to Seoul.

In fact, a heavy snow advisory has been in effect since 5:30 p.m. yesterday in the mountainous areas of Jeju.

In the mountainous areas of Jeju, the snowfall will reach 3 to 8 cm by tomorrow.

In the mountainous areas of Gangwon, there will be 1-3 cm of snow today, and in the Yeongseo region of Gangwon, the northern regions of North Chungcheong, and the mountainous regions of the northeast of Gyeongsangbuk-do, the snow will accumulate around 1 cm.

It will rain in most parts of the country except for the east coast today.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said, "It will rain occasionally in Incheon and southern Gyeonggi, Chungcheong, Jeolla, Gyeongbuk inland, western Gyeongsang inland, and Jeju." It will rain or snow in the mountains, and there may be places where it will rain or snow before noon in Incheon and southern Gyeonggi Province.”

As cold air continued to enter Korea, the temperature this morning was between minus 2 degrees and 9 degrees, which was 1-2 degrees lower than yesterday.

The morning temperature fell below freezing in the northern and inland regions of Gyeonggi Province, the mountainous and inland regions of Gangwon, and the northern regions of North Chungcheong Province, while other central regions and inland regions in northern Gyeongbuk stayed around 0 degrees Celsius.

The temperature at 8 am in major cities is 1.3 degrees in Seoul, 2.2 degrees in Incheon, 4.5 degrees in Daejeon, 6.5 degrees in Gwangju, 6.2 degrees in Daegu, 6.9 degrees in Ulsan and 8.0 degrees in Busan.

The daytime maximum temperature will be 5-14 degrees Celsius, almost the same as yesterday.
