As of 00:00 today, 1,698 of 1,715 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were infected in Korea, excluding 17 cases imported from abroad.



By region, 1,293 cases were confirmed in the metropolitan area, and 405 cases were confirmed in non-metropolitan areas.



After recording 2,000 people for five consecutive days so far, it is staying at 1,700 for the second day.



However, from the middle of this week, which has been about 10 days since the phased recovery of daily life was implemented on the 1st, there is a forecast that the number of confirmed patients may increase again as the quarantine relief effect begins in earnest.



In fact, even though the number of confirmed cases has fallen, the number of severe cases is on the rise, and the number of deaths is also recording double digits every day.



The number of patients with severe gastritis increased by 16 from the previous day to 425, the highest number in 74 days since the end of August, when the fourth epidemic was in full swing.



The death toll increased by 18 yesterday, and 2,998 people have lost their lives so far.



The vaccine against COVID-19 is speeding up as more than 270,000 people were vaccinated a day yesterday.



As of yesterday, about 41.63 million people, or 81.1% of the population, had been vaccinated, and among them, about 39.49 million people, 76.9% of the total population, were vaccinated.
