A gang of gangsters who borrowed empty factory buildings and dumped piles of waste from all over the country and collected billions of won by stealth were caught by the police.

Gyeonggi Nambu Police Agency's Violent Crime Investigation Team arrested 5 gangsters, including A (in their 50s) belonging to the 'Paradise Spa', a violent organization in the Anseong area, on charges of violating the Waste Management Act, and 59 people including B (in their 40s), the representative of a waste recycling company. announced today (4th) that he was booked without detention on the same charges.

Person A and others illegally dumped about 6,000 tons of waste synthetic resin waste inside a factory building in Anseong on November 20 last year. He is accused of taking unfair advantage of 9.2 billion won by dumping about 46,000 tons of waste after renting a place.

Mr. A and others created a fake waste disposal company by borrowing treatment facilities and equipment and returning them after obtaining licenses and permits.

Then, through a broker made up of gangsters, they collected household and industrial wastes, claiming that the handling cost of a 25-ton truck would be around 3 million won, which is cheaper than the usual 4 to 4.5 million won.

It turned out that they paid only a portion of the deposit for the rented building as a down payment, then dumped the waste and fled before the balance or monthly rent was due.

In addition, a 4-6m screen was installed around the building to hide the transport of waste, and the windows of the building were covered with a black cloth and dumped mainly at night.

They even registered about 2,000 tons out of 46,000 tons in the 'Allbaro System', a legal waste disposal tracking program, to pretend that the waste was being treated legally.

However, it was found that there was no waste that was actually processed normally, only the registration process was falsely followed.

The waste they discarded is still piling up in warehouses, causing various problems such as odor, dust, and contamination by leachate.

If the dumpsters do not dispose of the waste, the landowner has to clear it up. It is expected that each place will cost hundreds of millions to billions of won, so landowners also have a hard time disposing of it.

It was confirmed that many of the companies that entrusted waste disposal to Mr. A and others were aware of the illegal dumping of Mr. A.

The police plan to continue the investigation, believing that there are more waste companies involved in illegal dumping in collusion with gangsters.
