Severe disciplinary action has been imposed on the police investigators and executives in charge in connection with the 'suspicious care investigation' in the assault of a taxi driver by former Deputy Attorney General Lee Yong-gu.

The National Police Agency fired the investigator in charge, and imposed suspensions of 2 months and 1 month respectively for the head of the criminal division and the team leader at the time.

Former Vice Minister Lee was charged with assault, such as grabbing a taxi driver by the neck, and the police closed the case without proposing former Vice Minister Lee Yong-gu, stating that the victim did not want to be punished at the time.
