This weekend, after the holidays, the gradual recovery of daily life begins. However, the corona virus does not disappear suddenly. More than 2,100 confirmed cases have been reported for the past three days in a row. We have no choice but to increase the rate of booster vaccination by continuing to wear a mask well. In the midst of this, a report came in that a teenager, who is estimated to be a third-year high school student, died after being vaccinated in August, and we are investigating whether it is because of the vaccine.

Reporter Jang Se-man reports.

This is a hospital in Changwon, Gyeongnam where a group infection occurred.

After one employee was first confirmed yesterday (28th), 121 patients and workers in the psychiatric ward were infected, and then it spread to the nursing ward in the same building.

The number of related confirmed cases has risen to 162.

Most of the confirmed cases are breakthrough infections that were vaccinated in May and June.

48 people have been confirmed at a homeless facility in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, and all but two were vaccinated in July. Those who have finished.

As such, the number of breakthrough infections has recently increased to 1 in 3 total confirmed cases.

Looking at the 2nd week of October, it has increased five times compared to the 4th week of August.

This is because immunity decreases over time after inoculation, and the need to speed up booster shots and booster inoculations has increased.

Reports were also received of the death of a teenager, presumed to be in high school who received the vaccine.

This student was vaccinated last August, and died on the 27th, 75 days later.

This is the first time a teenager who has been vaccinated has died.

The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) said that there was no underlying disease at the time of vaccination, and that it is investigating whether there is a causal relationship between the vaccine and death.
