The police have launched an investigation after a seller who was trying to sell a used luxury watch in a university district in Seoul had the watch stolen by a buyer.

According to the Mapo Police Station in Seoul today (21st), a man who approached the main gate of Hongik University in Mapo-gu around 5 a.m. the day before as if to buy an Omega watch ran away with the watch.

This watch is known as a luxury item selling for 9 million won in the market.

Victim A posted an article about selling luxury watches on the second-hand trading platform 'Carrot Market' around 2:30 a.m. on the day of the incident.

Afterwards, at around 4 am, a man asked, "Can we meet and look at the watch now?" Mr. A was early, but he wanted to sell the watch quickly, so he went near the main gate of Hongdae and met the man.

The man asked Mr. A, "Can I try on the watch?"

With the permission of Mr. A, wearing the watch on his wrist, he talked for about 3 minutes, then suddenly picked up the warranty and ran away.

Mr. A hurriedly followed and followed 300m, but missed the man in the alley.

Police officers immediately dispatched and searched the area for about 30 minutes, but to no avail.

It was confirmed that the man who escaped did not leave personal information such as cell phone number to Mr. A, and left the carrot market after the crime.

According to Mr. A, the culprit is known as the owner of an impression in his late teens to early twenties with a short hair and a skinny body with a height of 170 cm.

Person A burst into anger, saying, "It is ridiculous that such a thing is happening in the middle of Seoul, no matter how early in the morning."

The police are planning to secure CCTV, etc. to determine the movement of the perpetrator.

This is a 'news pick'.
