"NATO has no plans to deploy weapons in space," RIA Novosti quoted Stoltenberg as saying.

According to him, space is important for the communications of the alliance.

Stoltenberg noted that NATO is investing, adapting and modernizing its capabilities to respond and defend against any threat, including advanced missile systems.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that the transformation of outer space into an arena of conflicts is becoming a real threat.

In August, the Chinese Foreign Ministry expressed concern over US actions to militarize space.
