A teacher at a public daycare center in Seoul witnessed the inappropriate behavior of a fellow teacher last month.

[Mr. A / Nursery School Teacher: Crying and saying that I want to go to the bathroom many times accurately, but not being able to move, for a long time without reason... .] I

informed the director that abuse was suspected.

[Mr. A / Nursery School Teacher: I am being educated every year to report any suspected child abuse. That's why I reported it to the headmaster.]

But a few days later, the parents of the teacher they reported contacted and said they were planning to sue for insults and defamation, and pressured them to add an acquittal if the child abuse was cleared.

The identity of the child abuse reporter has been exposed, and the person who leaked it could face up to three years in prison.

It is strictly forbidden to give disadvantages, but Mr. A is said to have even been told to quit his job.

[Mr. A / Nursery School Teacher: In the end, the teacher resigned, and after that, the head teacher told me to go out as well. Because it damaged the reputation of the daycare center... .]

In the past five years, there have been eight reports of the identity of child abuse reporters being leaked.

Only one of these cases resulted in punishment, and even that was a summary indictment that ended with a fine.

[Choi Jong-yoon / Democratic Party Assemblyman (Health and Welfare Committee): Thorough measures are urgently needed to prevent any disadvantage and damage to the public interest whistleblower.]

It is only for the sake of children, but he complains that the damage he has to bear alone is too great.

[Mr. A / Nursery school teacher: (Raising a problem) is like giving up your next job.

You call your former employer when you are hiring.

I've also received phone calls several times.]
