Firefighters who violated COVID-19 quarantine rules and had a dinner while on duty were severely disciplined.

The Incheon Fire Department recently held a disciplinary committee and announced today (19th) that three executives, including a fire cop A, a former rescue chief of a fire station in Incheon, were suspended for 1 to 2 months for violating the duty of maintaining dignity and violating the duty of integrity.

One executive and 12 firefighters who had dinner with them were reprimanded with light disciplinary action.

These firefighters were transferred to another fire station during the inspection and investigation stage before the disciplinary committee was held.

As a result of the inspection, 16 people including fire cop A had a dinner in a garage at a fire station in Incheon during the night shift on May 2nd and violated quarantine rules.

At that time, private gatherings of more than five people were prohibited in the metropolitan area, including Incheon, as the spread of Corona 19 did not stop.

The participants of the dinner were shift workers or on-call workers, so they went to work normally on Sunday, and it was investigated that they took out the fire engine parked in the garage and brought a table and chairs to have a dinner.

At that time, there was makgeolli at the dinner party, but all the attendees claimed that they did not drink alcohol during the inspection.

However, a fire department official said, "It is a lie to receive a weaker punishment to say that I did not drink while there was alcohol."

Policeman A is known to have bought pork belly and set up a dinner party to encourage firefighters working on holidays.

An official from the inspection department at the Incheon Fire Headquarters said, "Fireman A, who led the dinner, received the heaviest two-month suspension among those subject to disciplinary action.
