<Anchor> When the

hospital magnetic resonance imaging device and MRI were operating, a nearby iron oxygen cylinder was sucked in and a patient in his 60s died. Police are investigating how an oxygen cylinder was placed next to an MRI, which was strong enough to pull it into a metal bed.

is a hospital in Gimhae on the 14th.

An oxygen cylinder and a cart carrying it were caught in an MRI, a magnetic resonance imaging device.

A strong magnetic field was generated in an instant, and the 10 kg oxygen cylinder and the cart loaded with the oxygen cylinder were sucked up at a distance of 2 meters.

At that time, there was an inpatient patient in his 60s in the MRI machine, who died of severe head and back injuries.

Medical officials pointed out that this was a very unusual accident.

[Medical Equipment Specialist: When the iron bed comes in and does not pull out (the bed) out and turn the (MRI) equipment, it is now pulled again. It is easy to pull a few tens of kilograms.]

It is a place where strong magnetic force is generated, so metal materials are prohibited from being brought in, and an oxygen supply device is already installed in the shooting room.

The hospital where the accident took place knew that there was a problem with the oxygen supply system, so they put in an oxygen cylinder, but they avoided further details.

[Hospital official: Because that part is a sensitive situation, it is related to the oxygen tank… It's a little hard to tell.]

He said that he was in talks with the family of A.

The bereaved families of the sudden accident said they would proceed with the funeral schedule after waiting for a police investigation.

Meanwhile, the police conducted an autopsy, and based on the results, the hospital will decide whether to formally investigate whether the hospital was at fault.
