A driver has been found guilty of injuring a passenger by dropping a passenger out of the vehicle while driving under the influence.

The Incheon District Court sentenced a 37-year-old woman A, who was charged with drunk driving, to 8 months in prison and 2 years of probation.

In addition, Mr. A was ordered to attend 80 hours of community service and 24 hours of law-abiding driving lessons.

In March, Mr. A was charged with injuring his passenger B while driving under the influence of alcohol on a road in Jung-gu, Incheon.

At the time of the accident, Mr. B was sitting on a window sill with his upper body out of the window of the passenger seat and fell on the road.

As a result of the police investigation, the blood alcohol level of Mr. A was confirmed to be 0.184%, which is the license revocation value.

At the time, the prosecution referred Mr. A to trial, saying that the driver should have stopped the passenger or stopped the vehicle.

The court explained the reason for sentencing, saying, "The extent of the injury suffered by the victim was not light," but "taking into account the fact that it was a first-time offender and the fact that he had an agreement with the victim."
