This Sunday, when the coldest autumn was predicted, the lowest temperature in Seoul is expected to be the lowest in mid-October in 64 years.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 15th, the temperature will drop to such a degree that a cold wave warning will go into effect for most parts of the country on Sunday, the 17th.

In the case of Seoul, the lowest temperature is expected to be only 1 degree on the morning of the 17th.

Considering that the lowest temperature in Seoul recorded 17 degrees on the 15th and 12 degrees on the 16th, the temperature is dropping sharply.

1 degree Celsius is the lowest temperature in Seoul in mid-October, the lowest temperature in 64 years since 1957, and the 10th lowest temperature recorded in mid-October.

According to the Seoul Meteorological Administration's list of the lowest temperatures in mid-October, recorded on October 20, 1956, -1.1 degrees Celsius was the lowest ever recorded.

Except for this time and a year later, on October 19, 1957, the lowest temperature in Seoul has never fallen below freezing in mid-October.

On October 19, 1957, the lowest temperature in Seoul was -0.4 degrees.

In mid-October, the lowest temperature in Seoul was below 1 degree Celsius so far, a total of 11 times, the most recent being October 19, 1957.

This cold is expected to continue significantly as the Arctic chill descends to Korea while the subtropical high pressure that maintained its power over Korea and created an 'unusually hot autumn' contracted with the disappearance of Typhoon No. 18 Konpas.

It is expected that the cold will peak on the 17th and 18th morning, then briefly dissipate on the 19th morning, then drop again in the afternoon on the 19th, and return to the normal level only on the 24th.
