A woman who was sexually assaulted at a public company won a lawsuit against the company six years after the incident occurred. The company that admitted to being wrong when the accident occurred avoided responsibility while the lawsuit was in progress and inflicted more damage on the victim.

In 2015, two months after joining the Korea Land Information Corporation, intern A was sexually assaulted by a team leader.

The fact that the company had Ms. A write a false confirmation to reduce the case was also revealed, which caused outrage.

[Kim Young-pyo/President of Korea Land Information Corporation (National Assembly Audit in 2016): (There was a case of sexual harassment by an employee?) The disciplinary action was strengthened and I was fired.] The

perpetrators were convicted one after another, and Mr. A, who resigned, sued for damages. The company's position of admitting wrongdoing has changed in court.

He said that he cannot be held responsible for the sexual assault that occurred outside of the office hours.

After a long litigation, the court upheld Mr. A.

It was decided that the perpetrators and the company should compensate a total of 100 million won, saying that the employer's responsibility is also acknowledged for an incident that happened while an intern, a freshman intern, could not refuse the boss's request and had a meal.

Although he won, Mr. A confesses that he was hurt more by the irresponsible attitude of the company during the litigation process.

[Mr. A / Victim of sexual violence: I requested information disclosure, but the company did not provide any data.

Rather, they give data to the perpetrators.] He

also emphasized that he wants to be a strength to the hidden victims, saying that there are still undisclosed damages other than the officially counted sexual

assault

.

[Mr. A / Victim of sexual violence: (Many employees) are working at the risk of harm, but if you tell them that you won, wouldn't they come out too...

.]

[Kang Jun-hyeon / Democratic Party Member (National Assembly Land and Land Committee): (Sex crime) prevention education should not only be provided, but measures to support victims should be prepared.

Secondary harm prevention, treatment, and litigation support…

.] The

company said, "I apologize even if it's belatedly for causing pain for a long time."
