The mother who gave birth on the highway leading to the hospital and the baby who did not breathe after being born survived thanks to first aid provided by 119 paramedics.

According to the Chuncheon Fire Department in Gangwon-do, at around 0:21 on the 17th, an urgent report was received saying, "The pain is too short."

Joo Mo (30, female, Hongcheon-gun), who was about to give birth to her third child, gave help to 119 while the couple passed the Seoul Yangyang Expressway to go to the obstetrics and gynecology in Seoul as the amniotic fluid broke at 10:50 the night before and the labor intensified. That's what you requested.

When the 119 paramedics arrived in 10 minutes, the mother was just giving birth in the car, and the baby had apnea, pale skin, and did not respond to stimuli.

Paramedics immediately tried to aspirate the baby's airway with a suction device (suction) 5 times and pulled out the foreign object in the airway, but the baby did not move, such as grimacing or crying.

After taking first aid measures such as continuing suction and blocking infection from the outside with positive pressure ventilation, the baby started crying just then.

Paramedics received medical guidance from professional medical staff, cut the umbilical cord, and moved the mother and baby to the hospital by ambulance.

Fortunately, the mother did not have difficulty breathing, but she was given 10 liters of oxygen by putting on an oxygen mask.

After the dire situation passed, the baby was brought to the hospital and transferred to the incubator after 40 minutes of reporting while maintaining a bright red skin color as well as continuous crying and movement.

Firefighters Kang Min-ho, Lee Dae-han, and Yoo Jong-su, who saved the mother and baby, said, "I am glad that both the mother and the baby are safe," and "I hope the baby grows up healthy and strong."
