About 150 victims of 'Merge Point', a prepaid discount service that caused a large-scale refund, filed a complaint with the Seoul Central District Court claiming damages of 200 million won against Merge Plus, the operator.
Lawyer Kang Dong-won, the plaintiff's attorney, said, "There are many situations of Ponzi scams in Merge Plus. It can be fraudulent, civil and illegal.”
He also said, "We will discuss with the clients and proceed with further accusations of fraud," he said.
The amount of claim in this lawsuit was calculated by adding 200,000 won in alimony to the amount paid to Merge Plus for each user.
Merge Point is a payment service that claims 'unlimited 20% discount' and it is known that the number of users has reached 1 million until recently. Demands followed.
