"I can't stand it! Let's get married!" "Marriage that owes 10 million won for rice without eating"

Today (9th) at 8:30 a.m., around 30 wreaths with words in protest against the government's quarantine guidelines for wedding halls stood near the Government Complex Seoul in Jongno-gu, Seoul.

The National Federation of Newlyweds, made up of about 6,000 prospective couples, plans to hold a one-man protest in front of the government complex in Seoul starting today and demand improvement of quarantine guidelines related to wedding venues.

The Federation said, "The government is formulating a policy without knowing the reality." "Even though newlyweds have suffered enormous damage from the problem of selling gifts in return, there is no government measure to prevent the damage."

On the 3rd, the quarantine authorities extended the current 4th level of social distancing and allowed up to 99 people to attend even in the 3rd and 4th stages if no meals are provided at the wedding hall by the 3rd of next month.

If meals are provided, attendance is limited to 49 people.

Preliminary couples claimed that they were experiencing greater financial damage as the wedding hall started to impose new contract terms due to the sudden change of guidelines.

A 28-year-old bride-to-be, who decided to get married in mid-October, said, "Since the rules have been changed, we have been demanding that the wedding venues be required to pay extra for gifts in return. do,” he said.

A prospective bride in her early 30s alsoHe said, “Even if you want to serve 99 people without meals, they will have to pay for 49 people.

They point out that the government applied harsh quarantine guidelines to the wedding venue, and the wedding venue with the prospective couple has turned into a 'fight of Eul'.

Person A said, "The government is extending the distance by two weeks without responsibility, so wedding halls in difficult circumstances are shifting responsibility to customers. I have to come out,” he said.

Mr. A explained that the wedding hall was on the 3rd floor and the separation hall was on the 1st basement floor, so they tried to receive guests in different places, but it was difficult because the use of the separation hall was prohibited during the current social distancing stage.

Guidelines that change every two weeks or a month were also pointed out as a problem.

Kim (39), the bride-to-be, who is getting married on the 9th of next month, said, "I'm confused about what will happen if the occupancy standards change in the guidelines announced after October 3," and "I still don't know what to do. I couldn't decide whether to name it or not."

Kim expressed frustration, saying, "I have been delaying the marriage after seeing the government announcement that I will return to my daily life, but there is no sign of the end of Corona 19."
