Three people in their 20s, including Mr. A, were arrested on charges of fraudulent in an internet second-hand market.



The Bundang Police Station in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, announced today (9th) that A, who scammed billions of dollars in an internet second-hand market, was arrested on charges of fraud and the other two were booked without detention.

Mr. A's group is accused of taking money from victims who contacted them after posting an article about selling used agricultural machinery, such as cultivators and power trucks, on an internet used market for about three months from May of this year.



There were a total of 87 victims, and the amount of damage was found to range from 100,000 won to a maximum of 3.8 million won.



The total amount of damage was estimated to be about 230 million won.



They are known to alternately use about 10 mobile phone SIM chips in case their identity is revealed.



It was also investigated that they obtained photos of agricultural machinery from the Internet and pretended to be their own agricultural machinery with a Photoshop program.



It is reported that a group of Mr. A, known among his seniors and juniors in the neighborhood, stated in a police investigation that "they committed the crime to cover their living expenses."



A police official said, "Recently, in a situation where non-face-to-face second-hand transactions between individuals are increasing, it is better to check the real thing and make a face-to-face transaction if the amount is large.
