A female member of the Gwangju Municipal Ballet was assaulted by a male colleague for 4 hours. The perpetrator was charged with injury, but it was revealed that the ballet company did not conduct a proper investigation, let alone separate the parties, for nearly two months.

This is an exclusive report by KBC reporter Kim Jae-hyun.

In early July, female member A of the Gwangju Municipal Ballet visited the house of male member B.

After drinking, a disagreement broke out, and Mr. B resorted to violence.

Person A says that the assault was repeated for about 4 hours from midnight to the dawn of the next day.

[Assault Victim: I hit dozens in the living room, bathroom, and room four times. (Dawn) for 4 hours until 4 o'clock... .]

Mr. A, who was injured for three weeks before taking a sick leave, filed a complaint with the police, and the perpetrator was charged with injury rather than simple assault.

However, Mr. A, who returned to the ballet after taking a sick leave early last month, was frustrated by an unexpected situation.

The perpetrator was on his way to work, and as he repeatedly encountered direct encounters at the ballet, Mr. A suffered from anxiety symptoms such as sleep disturbance.

In the end, only after the union protested at the end of last month, the Cultural Arts Center started an investigation, and only 50 days after the incident, the perpetrator was excluded from the ballet company's work.

However, the request for disciplinary action against the perpetrator was dismissed on the grounds that the trial result did not come out.

[Gwangju Culture and Arts Center Executive: Because it was not sexual harassment or sexual assault, and because it was not an incident within the group, (the person in charge) did not report that part.] The

Gwangju Arts Center belatedly reviewing the disciplinary action said he would do it.
